Line Cook (Protein Station) – Piano Piano Oakville

PIANO PIANO Oakville is looking for passionate, motivated, and team-oriented Line Cooks to join our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute all protein dishes according to Piano Piano recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations.
• Primarily work the Protein Station, preparing and cooking steaks, chicken, fish, veal, and other featured proteins while receiving cross-training on other kitchen stations.
• Ensure all proteins are cooked to the correct temperature, portioned accurately, and plated consistently according to company standards.
• Family-style platters and large group orders
• Monitor cooking times and coordinate with other stations to ensure timely service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation while following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Complete daily prep lists and ensure the station is fully stocked before lunch and dinner service.
• Properly rotate, label, and store food products following FIFO procedures.
• Communicate effectively with chefs, fellow cooks, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory organization, and maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness.
• Adapt to changing service demands while maintaining attention to detail, consistency, and a strong sense of urgency.
• Support teammates and contribute to a collaborative and respectful kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience cooking steaks, chicken, fish, or other proteins in a high-volume restaurant is an asset.
• Strong understanding of proper cooking temperatures, food safety, and protein handling.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency and quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and cross-train on other kitchen stations.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
