Full job description

WEST SOCIAL

Now Hiring: Front of House Manager

Front of House Manager (Floor Manager)

West Social is an elevated casual dining restaurant known for a polished, high-energy dining room and a guest experience that keeps people coming back. We're looking for a Front of House Manager to lead the floor during service, run a tight, well-coached team, and keep the business side of the house — cash, comps, invoices — accurate every single shift. We're hiring quickly for this role, so if you're ready to move, we're ready to talk.

What You'll Own

Shift Leadership & Floor Presence

  • Run the floor during peak hours as the “conductor” of the dining room — high visibility, always reading the room.
  • Set the atmosphere: lighting, music, and room temperature calibrated to the West Social brand and the night's volume.
  • Oversee the host stand for strategic seating that prevents kitchen slams while maximizing table turns.
  • Solve problems in real time — POS glitches, facility issues, or staffing gaps — without breaking service.

Guest Experience & Reservations

  • Monitor the reservations inbox and confirm guest requests promptly.
  • Work the room with table touches to gather feedback and build guest rapport.
  • Own service recovery as the final word on guest complaints — empowered to issue comps, voids, or re-fires.
  • Recognize regulars and high-spend guests to build community and loyalty.

Staff Supervision & Real-Time Coaching

  • Lead pre-shift huddles covering 86'd items, specials, and floor goals.
  • Hold the line on uniform standards, side-work, and service steps.
  • Coach servers and bartenders in the moment, correcting course as service happens.
  • Make real-time labor calls — cutting staff to match volume without compromising service.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Monitor the invoice inbox; scan, code, and file vendor invoices per accounting guidelines so vendors are paid accurately and on time.
  • Issue and verify starting bank counts for all tills.
  • Audit and approve comps, voids, and promos in real time.
  • Perform mid-shift cash drops to the safe.
  • Run end-of-shift checkouts — reconciling cash to tip-on-hand reports and securing the final drop.

Operational Synergy & Facility Standards

  • Work the pass/expo line during rushes to keep BOH and FOH timing in sync.
  • Hold the line on plate and drink presentation before anything leaves the kitchen or bar.
  • Walk the floor every 60 minutes to keep restrooms, entryways, and the dining room spotless.

Miscellaneous

  • Take on ad-hoc projects as needed — menu updates, signage, inventory spot-checks, and other management priorities.

What You Bring

Required

  • 2–3 years of front-of-house experience in a full-service, table-service dining room — this role is built for someone who has run a floor, not just a counter.
  • This is a full-service restaurant management role. Experience limited to quick-serve or fast-casual settings will not meet the bar for this position.
  • Demonstrated experience with POS systems, cash handling, and shift-level financial reconciliation.
  • A steady, calm presence under pressure — someone who can run a slammed Friday night without losing the room.
  • Strong people leadership: comfortable coaching, correcting, and holding a team to a standard in real time.
  • Smart Serve certification required at the time of hire.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in an elevated casual or upscale dining environment.
  • Familiarity with Maitre'D or a comparable POS platform.
  • Experience supporting invoice coding, vendor management, or other back-office restaurant administration.

Schedule & Compensation

Full-time · evenings, weekends, and holidays required, consistent with restaurant service hours.

Houly rate, commensurate with experience.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Application question(s):

  • Have you managed a dine in, table service restaurant before?

Work Location: In person
