This is a space where refined service meets theatrical culinary craft, where every detail matters, and where the guest experience begins the moment they step through the door.

You set the tone for the room, greeting guests with warmth, confidence, and polished professionalism while managing reservations, coordinating seating, and supporting the seamless flow of a fast paced, premium dining environment. Whether you’re presenting menus, highlighting signature dishes, guiding guests through their experience, or communicating key details to the serving team, you play a vital role in delivering the attentive, elevated, and memorable service that defines Gordon Ramsay Steak.

Your poised presence, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to exceptional hospitality help create the dynamic, welcoming environment that keeps guests returning to River Rock for Chef Ramsay’s world class dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Welcome — Create a warm, polished welcome for every guest, establishing an elevated and memorable first impression.
  • Seating & Menu Presentation — Greet and seat guests according to their preferences, presenting menus with professionalism and ease.
  • Guest Engagement — Engage guests as they are being seated to highlight daily features, understand dining needs, and communicate key details to the serving team.
  • Menu Knowledge — Provide accurate explanations of menu items, beverages, and preparation methods when required.
  • Service Support — Support the serving team to maintain seamless, attentive service throughout the dining room.
  • Opening & Closing Duties — Perform opening and closing responsibilities to ensure the lounge and host stand remain guest ready at all times.
  • Waitlist & Reservations — Maintain accurate waitlists, reservations, and seating records to support smooth flow and timely service.
  • Strategic Table Allocation — Allocate tables strategically to uphold service excellence, confirming availability through clear communication with server assistants.
  • Operational Support — Assist Porters and Server Assistants with running food and beverages, resetting tables, and maintaining a steady service rhythm.
  • Cross Team Communication — Communicate effectively with back of house teams and management to anticipate needs and resolve issues proactively.
  • Allergen & Menu Awareness — Stay fully informed about the menu, including allergen details, to provide accurate, confident guidance to guests.
  • Regulatory Compliance — Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety standards, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Additional Duties — Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Flexible Availability — Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience using the OpenTable platform is an asset.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant or lounge environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A strong commitment to providing refined, memorable guest experiences while supporting a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Serving It Right certification.
  • Ability to clear a criminal record check.
