Nawab's Legendary BBQ is opening a new restaurant at 69 Lebovic Avenue, Scarborough, in the first week of November. We are hiring two Shift Supervisors to run the shifts the Store Manager does not.

You are on the floor for the whole shift, working alongside the team. You take orders, work stations, expedite, and look after guests. You also open or close the restaurant, count the float, hold food safety and cash controls, and carry the shift when the Store Manager is not in the building.

The shifts

The two supervisors rotate between an evening shift and a late shift, and share the late shift equally. Neither supervisor works later than 2:00 am.

• Evening: approximately 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
• Late: approximately 6:00 pm to 2:00 am

Both shifts are eight hours. Your rotation is set in writing before you start.

Our hours

We trade 24 hours a day, seven days a week from opening until 31 December. From January we are open 11:00 am to 2:00 am.

What you will do

• Open or close the restaurant, set the floor, brief the team and hold standards for the whole shift
• Work stations through service: expedite, cover the grill, run the counter
• Manage service speed and ticket times through peak periods
• Direct grillers and crew, assign stations, and set the break rotation
• Count the float, run the cash-out, prepare the deposit and reconcile the shift
• Maintain temperature logs, allergen control and cross-contamination prevention
• Follow our halal handling procedures exactly as written
• Resolve guest complaints on shift

What we are looking for

• Two or more years leading shifts in a restaurant, quick service or fast casual
• The ability to work every station yourself, including the grill
• A record of holding food safety and cash controls without being supervised
• Valid Ontario Food Handler Certification, or the ability to obtain it before opening
• Working knowledge of POS and scheduling systems
• Legally entitled to work in Canada, with satisfactory references

Experience in halal, barbecue or grill-forward cuisine, overnight supervision, or opening a new restaurant is an asset.

What we offer

• $20.00 to $22.00 per hour
• Approximately 40 hours a week, five shifts of eight hours
• Paid training before opening

The role involves extended periods standing and walking, working in a hot kitchen, and lifting up to approximately 25 kilograms.
