Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sushi Cook to join our vibrant culinary team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests and uphold our commitment to food excellence. Duties

  • Prepare fresh sushi and sashimi with precision, ensuring each piece meets quality standards and presentation expectations
  • Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and assembling various Japanese dishes
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
  • Assist in managing ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service times by efficiently executing meal preparation tasks
  • Ensure cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
  • Provide excellent food service by engaging with guests when appropriate and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere

Experience

  • Proven experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or food industry setting
  • Prior experience working as a sushi chef or in Japanese cuisine is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices
  • Familiarity with serving customers in a fast-paced environment is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including meal preparation techniques and ingredient management
