RDM Hospitality is seeking an experienced, innovative, and passionate Executive Chef to lead culinary operations across our growing portfolio of hospitality concepts in the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic culinary leader who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-unit environment and is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences. Based out of our Head Office, the Executive Chef will oversee diverse food service operations including Public House, Italian, Winery, Catering, and Private Event Space concepts while helping shape the culinary direction of a dynamic hospitality group. RDM Hospitality operates a collection of hospitality ventures with a focus on outstanding guest experiences, quality offerings, and exceptional service.

Role Overview

The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing culinary operations across multiple RDM Hospitality locations and business divisions. This role provides leadership in menu development, culinary standards, financial performance, catering operations, promotions, and team development. The successful candidate will bring a balance of creativity and business acumen, ensuring consistency, innovation, and profitability across a diverse portfolio of hospitality concepts.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Lead culinary operations across multiple hospitality concepts, including public house, Italian dining, winery, catering, and private event venues
  • Develop, implement, and maintain menus that reflect the unique identity of each brand
  • Create seasonal features, special event menus, and promotional programs for all locations
  • Establish and maintain culinary standards, recipes, presentation guidelines, and food quality expectations
  • Oversee food and labour costs while driving profitability throughout all business units
  • Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and margins
  • Support General Managers and kitchen leadership teams in achieving performance objectives
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop culinary leaders and kitchen teams
  • Oversee purchasing programs, vendor relationships, inventory management, and cost controls
  • Lead the culinary planning and execution of onsite and offsite catering events
  • Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to develop and execute brand promotions and special events
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations across all locations
  • Maintain consistency in the guest experience while supporting innovation and continuous improvement

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, and kitchen management teams
  • Coach, mentor, and develop culinary talent throughout the organization
  • Conduct performance management and succession planning initiatives
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing culinary culture

Working Conditions

  • Based out of the RDM Hospitality Head Office in Surrey, BC
  • Regular travel between hospitality locations and event venues required
  • Schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally required
  • Flexibility to support onsite and offsite catering events throughout the year

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary leadership experience
  • Previous Executive Chef or multi-unit culinary leadership experience preferred
  • Proven success overseeing multiple food service concepts or locations
  • Strong background in menu development, cost management, and culinary innovation
  • Experience managing food costs, labour budgets, inventory, and purchasing programs
  • Catering and event execution experience required
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and coaching skills
  • Ability to balance creativity with operational and financial performance
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification required
  • Occupational First Aid Level 1 is an asset
  • Experience within hospitality groups, restaurants, wineries, hotels, or event venues is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
