Set to open in Ottawa this summer, Carletto is the latest restaurant from Gray Collection, bringing the elegance and warmth of Italy to Ottawa. Inspired by traditional Italian gatherings and the simple pleasure of good food, the restaurant blends authentic cuisine with a contemporary spirit. Featuring fresh pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and carefully selected ingredients, each dish celebrates sharing and generosity.

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the restaurant and bar reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining high food and beverage quality standards, and leading the F&B team to ensure a seamless guest experience. The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

RESPONSABILITIES:
  • Oversee and coordinate all F&B operations, including the restaurant and bar
  • Ensure food and beverage offerings meet quality standards and are visually appealing.
  • Supervise daily activities of Front and Back of House staff.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the F&B team to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor staff performance to maintain efficiency.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, promotions, and standards.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Foster a welcoming atmosphere and ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise and evaluate employees, guiding them to promote growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a safe, hazard-free work environment and adhere to preventative maintenance protocols.
  • Keep detailed logs of maintenance needs for department equipment.
  • Ensure food safety and temperature logs are completed with corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Gather guest feedback and implement improvements based on their suggestions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including hygiene standards and proper food handling.
  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Food & Beverage Director or Manager, leveraging specific skills and experience as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a premium, fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Smart Serve Certification is required.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, some
  • mornings, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
  • Valid work permit required
  • Experience in an Italian restaurant or similar upscale environment is an asset
