Job Description:

Freshslice Pizza is hiring enthusiastic and versatile Team Member – Cashier & Pizza Maker to join our team at our Nanaimo Ferry Terminal location. This role combines customer service excellence with hands-on food preparation, offering an exciting opportunity to grow in the quick-service restaurant industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
  • Take and process orders accurately using the POS system.
  • Handle cashier duties, including cash and card transactions, with precision.
  • Prepare pizzas and other menu items following Freshslice standards.
  • Maintain inventory, stock supplies, and organize the store.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, dining areas, and equipment to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Assist with promotional activities such as sampling to engage customers.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a cashier or with POS systems (required).
  • Prior experience in food preparation, pizza-making, or quick-service restaurants (preferred).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to do Multi Tasking All the time

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience as a cashier or working with POS systems (required).
  • 1+ year of experience in the food service industry (preferred).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Fluent in English (required).
  • Food Handler Certification (required).
