We are excited to be recruiting for a Full Time Junior Sous Chef at SMITH Restaurant, within our amazing property, Inn at the Forks.

Inn at the Forks is a sleek and stylish hotel set in The Forks historic site with guest rooms that feature a modern design, and some suites have waterfront views. SMITH is a contemporary restaurant featuring locally sourced ingredients, and Riverstone Spa is a full-service spa, both located within the hotel.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Jr. Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food preparation, and a solid background in restaurant and kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while contributing to a high-quality fine dining experience. The Jr. Sous Chef will support the executive chef in managing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. Prior restaurant management and food industry experience are highly valued for this position.

Duties:

· Design and execute daily features and assist in the development of new menu items

· Support all areas of kitchen operations, demonstrating a strong willingness to learn and assist wherever needed

· Manage, motivate, and discipline kitchen staff to maintain a productive, respectful, and efficient work environment

· Uphold consistently high standards of product quality, portioning, and food presentation

· Perform inventory and product-level management procedures, including ordering and receiving

· Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards are followed at all times

· Assist with training and mentoring kitchen staff to support skill development and team growth

· Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including the willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

What you bring to the table:

· Minimum 3-4 years of culinary supervisory experience in a hotel setting, or fine dining restaurant.

· Strong culinary foundation with demonstrated skills in baking and butchery

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.

· Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation regulations, and proper kitchen procedures.

· Solid culinary skills with experience in large-scale food production.

· Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Must have Open Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
