Job Overview
Busy Vietnamese restaurant with 3 locations in Saskatoon is seeking hardworking, motivated staff to join our culinary team (cooks, prep, etc). The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations and food handling practices. Experience with Vietnamese & other east-Asian cuisine is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by the restaurant.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet customer demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food handling practices.
  • Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process, making adjustments as necessary.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are essential for success in this role.
  • A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers is highly valued.
