Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Supervisor/Manager to lead our team and ensure the smooth operation of our African cuisine restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant experience, and a thorough knowledge of African cuisine, including traditional ingredients, cooking techniques, and regional dishes. A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and an appreciation for authentic African culinary traditions are essential.

This role involves overseeing daily restaurant operations, managing and supervising staff, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and ensuring an outstanding dining experience for our guests. A background in food preparation, kitchen operations, hospitality, and experience working with African cuisine is highly desirable to effectively coordinate all aspects of restaurant management and support the delivery of authentic, high-quality meals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily restaurant operations, including food service, customer interactions, and staff performance
  • Train, schedule, supervise, and motivate front-of-house and kitchen staff to maintain high levels of productivity and customer service.
  • Oversee food preparation and handling to maintain high standards of food safety and quality
  • Utilize POS systems for order processing and cash handling accurately
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supplies
  • Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service to enhance guest satisfaction
  • Manage restaurant transactions, including cash handling and sales reporting
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service flow
  • Address customer concerns promptly to resolve issues effectively and maintain a positive dining environment

Experience

  • Proven supervisory or management experience within the food service or hospitality industry
  • Extensive restaurant experience with knowledge of food industry standards and best practices
  • Demonstrate knowledge of African cuisine, including traditional ingredients, cooking techniques, regional dishes, and food presentation.
  • Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures
  • Experience operating POS systems
  • Strong team management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff members
  • Background in restaurant management or hotel experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership in high-pressure environments with excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper kitchen procedures
