Full job description

We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Fruit & Bin Hauling Driver to support our vineyard and harvest operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of harvested fruit, picking bins, and vineyard equipment between our vineyard sites in Osoyoos, Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Vernon, collection points, and the winery. During the harvest season, your primary responsibility will be hauling harvested fruit and empty picking bins, with occasional transportation of vineyard equipment as required.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting harvest operations by ensuring the efficient movement of materials while maintaining the highest standards of safety, product quality, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Haul full picking bins of harvested fruit from vineyard blocks to the winery or designated collection areas.
  • Transport empty bins back to vineyard locations to support harvesting operations.
  • Ensure timely pickups and deliveries to maintain fruit quality and harvest efficiency.
  • Drive safely on vineyards, rural roads, and highways while complying with all applicable traffic laws and company safety policies.
  • Handle bins carefully to prevent fruit bruising, spillage, or contamination.
  • Ensure loads are properly secured before transport.
  • Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking tires, brakes, lights, fluid levels, and overall vehicle condition.
  • Report mechanical issues, vehicle damage, or safety concerns promptly to the Vineyard Operations Manager or Supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate transport records, including bin counts, load information, and delivery documentation.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies related to transporting harvested fruit.
  • Transport tractors, implements, and other vineyard equipment between sites, ensuring loads are safely secured and transported in accordance with company procedures.
  • Provide general transportation and logistical support during peak operational periods.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of commercial driving or hauling experience, preferably in agriculture, farming, or a related industry.
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence, or a valid Class 3 Driver's Licence with Heavy Trailer Endorsement (Code 20), in good standing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe driving practices and workplace safety.
  • Ability to identify, report, and communicate vehicle or equipment maintenance issues.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, during the harvest season as required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with supervisors and harvest crews.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
