About Savoury Chef
Savoury Chef is a premium catering company known for creating polished, thoughtful, and memorable food experiences for corporate clients, private hosts, weddings, celebrations, and special events. Our work combines restaurant-quality food, warm hospitality, strong logistics, and a high level of care from the first inquiry through final execution.
We are growing and looking for a Sales Coordinator who is energized by client service, detail-oriented order management, and relationship-driven sales. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning inquiries into booked events, helping clients feel taken care of, and building long-term business with both corporate and private clients.
Position Overview
The Sales Coordinator will be a key member of the Savoury Chef sales team, responsible for accepting and qualifying incoming leads, preparing and inputting corporate and private catering orders, supporting client communication, and helping grow our existing client base.
This role requires a balance of hospitality, organization, sales confidence, and follow-through. The right person will be comfortable moving quickly between client calls, email inquiries, proposals, order details, menu questions, CRM updates, and outbound sales opportunities.
A major focus of this position will be converting inbound leads into confirmed orders while also managing select outbound sales efforts to develop new relationships, reactivate past clients, and grow repeat corporate and private business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Intake & Client Communication
Ø Respond promptly and professionally to incoming catering inquiries by phone, email, web form, and other lead channels.
Ø Qualify leads by gathering event details, including date, guest count, location, budget, menu needs, service style, dietary requirements, rentals, staffing, and delivery logistics.
Ø Guide clients through Savoury Chef’s catering options with warmth, confidence, and a strong understanding of our food, service standards, and event capabilities.
Ø Provide a polished first impression that reflects the quality and hospitality of the Savoury Chef brand.
Ø Follow up with prospective clients in a timely and organized manner to help move opportunities toward confirmation.
Order Entry & Event Details
Ø Accurately input corporate and private client orders into the company’s ordering, catering, or CRM systems.
Ø Prepare clear internal notes for kitchen, operations, delivery, staffing, and event teams.
Ø Ensure all event details are complete, accurate, and communicated properly before handoff.
Ø Track client preferences, dietary restrictions, repeat-order details, billing requirements, and special instructions.
Ø Maintain clean, current, and detailed records for leads, proposals, confirmed bookings, and follow-up activity.
Corporate & Private Client Sales
Ø Support and grow relationships with corporate clients, office managers, executive assistants, event planners, and private hosts.
Ø Help clients select menus and service styles that suit their event goals, budget, and guest experience.
Ø Identify opportunities to increase order value through appropriate add-ons such as beverages, staffing, rentals, desserts, late-night snacks, upgraded service, or recurring catering programs.
Ø Support repeat business by staying connected with past clients and recognizing opportunities for future events.
Ø Assist with seasonal campaigns, holiday catering, corporate gifting, client appreciation events, and recurring office catering opportunities.
Outbound Sales & Business Development
Ø Manage a portion of outbound sales activity focused on growing Savoury Chef’s client base.
Ø Prospect new corporate accounts, private client opportunities, venues, planners, and referral partners.
Ø Reconnect with past clients and dormant accounts to generate new bookings.
Ø Track outbound activity, follow-ups, responses, and opportunities in the CRM or sales tracking system.
Ø Help identify high-potential industries and companies for recurring catering, meetings, staff meals, celebrations, launches, and client-facing events.
Ø Represent Savoury Chef professionally when introducing our services to prospective clients and partners.
Sales Support & Coordination
Ø Prepare proposals, estimates, menus, and basic event documents as needed.
Ø Coordinate with the culinary, operations, delivery, and event teams to ensure client expectations are realistic, clear, and achievable.
Ø Help maintain sales materials, menu information, pricing details, and client-facing documents.
Ø Assist with tracking sales performance, lead sources, conversion rates, and commissionable bookings.
Ø Support the sales team with administrative tasks that help move leads and confirmed events through the pipeline smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a polished communicator, a natural relationship-builder, and someone who loves the pace of catering and events. You are organized, responsive, and calm under pressure. You know how to ask good questions, listen carefully, and make clients feel confident that their event is in good hands.
You should be comfortable with both service and sales. This is not a passive administrative role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of leads, follow up consistently, uncover opportunities, and help grow revenue while maintaining the high standard of care Savoury Chef clients expect.
Qualifications
Ø Previous experience in catering, events, hospitality, restaurant sales, corporate sales, or client service is strongly preferred.
Ø Experience handling catering orders, event details, or food service logistics is an asset.
Ø Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ø Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with order entry.
Ø Comfortable speaking with corporate clients, private clients, planners, and vendors.
Ø Ability to manage multiple inquiries, deadlines, and event details at the same time.
Ø Sales-minded approach with confidence in follow-up, upselling, and outbound outreach. Professional, warm, and service-oriented personality.
Ø Strong proficiency with technology and digital tools, including Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, CRM systems, AI-powered applications, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and emerging technologies.
Ø Automation-minded, with a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies, streamlining processes, and leveraging technology to improve performance in fast-paced environments.
Ø Strong understanding of, and passion for, food, culinary products, and the food service industry.
Ø Ability to confidently discuss and present food products, ingredients, preparation methods, and applications to customers.
Ø Familiarity with the Vancouver and Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) market, including local businesses, industry trends, events, and community initiatives.
Ø Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
Ø Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of effectively managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ø Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, CRM systems, catering software, and order management tools.
Ø Knowledge of food, menus, dietary restrictions, event service styles, or Vancouver’s catering/event market is an asset.
Ø Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen, operations, delivery, and event teams.
