For over 25 years, Snyder’s Farm has been creating unforgettable family memories through our fall season. We are looking to add experienced Fryers and Kitchen Team Members to our FARMtastic team!

Looking for a rewarding seasonal opportunity, second job, or great side hustle? We’re looking for experienced Fryers and Kitchen Help to prepare and serve the food enjoyed by thousands of guests throughout our fall season.

This position is ideal for someone who already has professional frying and commercial kitchen experience and is looking for additional seasonal income, a second job, or a rewarding temporary contract. Whether you’re currently working in food service, between jobs, semi-retired, or simply looking to earn extra income, we’d love to hear from you.

Our food service department is one of the busiest areas of the farm. During peak season, we prepare large quantities of food for thousands of guests every day. We’re looking for individuals who enjoy staying busy, take pride in producing outstanding food, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

A minimum of two years of recent professional frying experience is required for this position.

This seasonal contract begins in August and runs through October, with opportunities for extension for exceptional team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial deep fryers.
  • Prepare and fry large quantities of food while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Manage multiple fryer baskets and cooking times during busy service periods.
  • Monitor fryer temperatures and oil quality throughout each shift.
  • Filter, change, and dispose of fryer oil according to established safety procedures.
  • Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation.
  • Set up, stock, clean, and organize fryer and kitchen stations.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and cleaning procedures.
  • Prepare ingredients and complete daily food preparation.

We’re Looking for People Who

  • Have at least two years of recent professional frying experience in a restaurant, concession, food truck, quick-service restaurant, catering kitchen, festival kitchen, or other commercial food-service environment.
  • Are confident and comfortable working around commercial fryers and hot oil.
  • Can manage multiple products and cooking times during high-volume service.
  • Enjoy working hard and staying busy.
  • Take pride in producing outstanding food.
  • Are dependable and arrive on time.
  • Can work independently while also being part of a team.
  • Stay calm and organized during busy periods.
  • Take initiative and are willing to jump in wherever needed.
  • Can commit to the full seasonal contract from August through October.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of recent professional frying experience is required. Applicants without the required frying experience will not be considered.
  • Experience in a high-volume commercial kitchen or concession environment is strongly preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification is required or must be obtained before your first shift.
  • Reliable transportation is required. Snyder’s Farm is located just outside Kitchener-Waterloo, and there is no public transportation available to the farm.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and working around heat and hot oil.
  • Able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, reaching, carrying supplies, and cleaning equipment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Flexible and willing to assist in different food-service areas when needed.
  • Weekend and evening availability during the fall season is required.
