Position Overview

World Meats is seeking a reliable and hardworking Grinding Associate to support daily grinding operations, including the production of ground beef, burgers, sausage, and dog food products. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce burgers, ground beef, sausage, and dog food products according to company standards and recipes.
  • Operate grinding equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Select and install the appropriate grinding plate to achieve the required particle size.
  • Load meat into the grinder and position collection bins or trucks under the discharge spout.
  • Prepare meat products according to recipes, ensuring accurate seasoning, texture, and consistency.
  • Measure and mix spices and seasonings as directed.
  • Portion, weigh, label, and package products for distribution.
  • Complete required production paperwork, including batch records and production logs.
  • Maintain product quality while meeting daily production targets.
  • Follow all food safety, HACCP, sanitation, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work areas after each production run.
  • Select and weigh meat from the cooler for grinding as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with other production duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a food production or meat processing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with meat grinding or sausage production is considered an asset.
  • Ability to follow recipes, production procedures, and food safety guidelines.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry items throughout an 8-hour or longer shift.
  • Comfortable working in a refrigerated and freezer environment (-10°C to +4°C).
  • Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy.

Pay: $19.00 per hour
