Part-Time Maintenance Technician – HVAC & Restaurant Equipment

Location: Nanaimo (3 Restaurants) & Duncan (1 Restaurant)
Company: Tim Hortons Franchise Group
Position Type: Part-Time
Wage: $35.00 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Part-Time Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair needs of our four Tim Hortons restaurants located in Nanaimo and Duncan. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HVAC systems and commercial restaurant equipment and be able to respond to maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on restaurant kitchen equipment, including:
  • Coffee and beverage equipment
  • Refrigeration and freezer units
  • Ovens and toasters
  • Ice machines
  • Iced Capp and frozen beverage equipment
  • Small kitchen appliances
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns as required.
  • Coordinate with external service providers when specialized repairs are needed.
  • Maintain maintenance records and repair logs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce repair costs.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining restaurant or commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration systems is considered an asset.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment when required.
