At Jonkman Equipment Ltd., we strive to remain British Columbia’s premier specialized equipment distributor while building a team that’s driven, supported, and proud of what they do. We’re seeking a motivated Poultry Equipment Sales Representative to join our fast-paced team.

In this role, the Poultry Equipment Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and growth by promoting and selling poultry equipment, building strong customer relationships, and delivering tailored solutions that meet client needs. This role involves conducting needs analyses, preparing competitive quotes, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective problem resolution. The position requires strategic prospecting, market awareness, and achievement of sales targets while maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present, promote and sell poultry feeding, watering, and ventilation equipment
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis of potential customers to meet their needs; educate customers on how the company’s products or services can benefit them financially and professionally.
  • Prepare and present competitive quotes for products and services based on needs analysis of the specific customer.
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
  • Research, generate, and follow through sales leads.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
  • Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand the customer's specific needs.
  • Attend meetings, sales events and appropriate training to keep abreast of the latest developments, best practices and promotional trends in the industry.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education or GED equivalent; post-secondary education in agriculture is beneficial
  • Knowledge of poultry equipment and welfare is an asset
  • 2-4 years previous experience in a retail sales role
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on building rapport and customer retention
  • Strong customer service client orientation
  • Strategic prospecting and negotiating skills
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Resiliency with ability to overcome objections
  • Agriculture background highly recommended
