What You’ll Do

We are seeking a reliable and thoughtful Staff Cook to prepare daily meals for our resort team, supporting morale and well-being through quality food. This role is ideal for a chef passionate about seasonally driven cuisine, hyper-local sourcing, and refined fine-dining execution, inspired by the land, sea, and cultural heritage of the region. This is a seasonal, onsite position that runs from May 1st to October 1st. Onsite staff accommodation provided.

Our Culinary Philosophy

Our kitchen is rooted in a deep respect for place. We cook with:

  • Seasonal, hyper-local ingredients sourced from the surrounding coastline, forests, and waters
  • Foraged elements gathered responsibly and in rhythm with the land
  • Line-caught and sustainably harvested seafood, reflective of West Coast waters
  • Indigenous-inspired ingredients and techniques, used with care, respect, and acknowledgment of their cultural significance
  • Clean, elegant plates that allow ingredients to speak for themselves

We believe luxury is found in restraint, craftsmanship, and a genuine connection to where we cook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare nutritious, balanced staff meals daily
  • Manage ordering and efficient use of ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
  • Work closely with the culinary leadership team

What You Bring

Qualifications

  • Experience cooking for groups or staff kitchens preferred
  • Organized, efficient, and dependable
  • Strong sense of hospitality and care for others
  • Comfortable working independently

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with dietary restrictions and accommodating guest needs.
  • OFA 3 / Advanced First Aid certification is an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Hourly wage: $20–$23, depending on experience
