A McDonald's General Manager leads their team to overall success by achieving restaurant targets of sales, profit, and guest experience. Our ideal candidate is energetic, detailed, efficient, and business-focused. They can motivate a large and diverse team through sharing and teaching operational and system knowledge while ensuring everyone receives the training and coaching they need to successfully deliver an excellent guest experience and achieve business goals. This person shows initiative and strives for future career opportunities within the organization.

Salary Range $65,000 to $70,000 annually based on experience. Total compensation package also includes:

  • $90 monthly cellphone credit

Schedule This is a full-time management position; the work schedule varies with the opportunity for shift flexibility being based around business needs and restaurant/positional responsibilities. Our restaurants operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work hours include weekends, mornings, afternoons, and evenings/nights. A typical week will include roughly 50% on-floor operational management and coaching and 50% administrative tasks

Position Overview

  • Reporting directly to the Operations Consultant, the General Manager is accountable for the overall operations and profitability of a medium – high volume restaurant including all aspects of the daily, weekly, and monthly metrics
  • Maintaining a high level of business controls in the areas of managing food cost, labour costs, and other line items
  • Maintaining and teaching a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant
  • Building sales through a passion for guest service in all aspects of the business
  • Identifying operational gaps in the restaurant, diagnose root causes, and provide direction and coaching to alleviate
  • Reviewing and analyzing guest count, sales, and profit results. Adjusting business plans and/or tactics when necessary
  • Regular monitoring of company communication to stay informed of promotions and procedural changes. May include sharing, teaching, or coaching staff on information received
  • Executing and overseeing food safety standards through daily certifications, maintaining physical plant cleanliness standards, and monitoring staff actions
  • Following McDonald’s high standard of people practices and professional conduct. This includes the duty to ensure all team members work according to K.E.I standards while also maintaining legal compliance
  • Seeking guest feedback. Rewarding customer compliments and handling guest complaints
  • Monitor and report progress on business goals and objectives using internal measurement tools
  • Conduct weekly department walk-thru to assess performance, diagnose opportunities and identify action
  • Prepare for and facilitate weekly manager's meetings and progress reports

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a General Manager in a quick service, high volume restaurant setting. McDonald’s experience is preferred
  • Previous P&L accountability with proven track record of successful profit management
  • Self-led through internal motivation
  • Leads through delegation and accountability of clear roles and expectations
  • Holds a confident and positive leadership style that can motivate and drive change within a large team
  • Leads through guest-centric metrics
  • Employee-focused approach to business management creating high retention and job satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates an intermediate/high level of written and verbal communication
  • Ability to travel independently in between central and southern Vancouver Island
  • Ability to work a variable and flexible schedule
