Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sushi Cook to join our vibrant culinary team! In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests and uphold our commitment to food excellence. Your energetic approach to food preparation, combined with your dedication to food safety and customer satisfaction, will help create memorable dining experiences. Duties

  • Prepare fresh sushi and sashimi with precision, ensuring each piece meets quality standards and presentation expectations
  • Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and assembling various Japanese dishes
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
  • Assist in managing ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service times by efficiently executing meal preparation tasks
  • Ensure cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
  • Provide excellent food service by engaging with guests when appropriate and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere

Experience

  • Proven experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or food industry setting
  • Prior experience working as a sushi chef or in Japanese cuisine is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices
  • Familiarity with serving customers in a fast-paced environment is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including meal preparation techniques and ingredient management
  • Previous restaurant experience demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and attention to detail is essential
