Join our growing team at Mid-Ontario!

Our Maple location is presently recruiting a Service Manager, with three weeks vacation to join our dynamic team.

Reports to: Service Director

Summary:

Responsible for maximizing the efficiency, revenue and productivity of the service department while achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes Mid-Ontario staffing objectives, including recruitment and selection and performance management including coaching, counseling and disciplining shop employees when needed.
  • Oversee all day to day operations and activities in the shop.
  • Maximizes customer operational performance by providing resources and technical advice, resolving problems, disseminating advisories, warning and new techniques, detecting and diagnosing network problems.
  • Direct, train and motivate a service team comprised of multiple Shop Foremen, Service Writer, Warranty Administrator and Truck and Coach Technicians.
  • Monitor departmental performance in key areas such as revenue, profitability and efficiency.
  • Manage shop overhead costs.
  • Improve customer service quality results by studying, evaluating and re-designing processes, establish and communicating service metrics, monitoring and analyzing results, effective implementation of changes.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by contributing customer service information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews, action plan development and implementation.
  • Develop long term relationships with both new and existing customers to ensure repeat and referral business.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Partner with the manufacturer to monitor vehicle failure history, identify trends and develop action plans to prevent failures
  • Manage quoting, work order and invoicing software systems to ensure jobs are completed and invoiced in a timely manner.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
  • Ensure all employees in the shop are working safely and adhering to provincial and federal safety and employment regulations.
  • Liaison between OEM’s and Mid-Ontario Truck Centre to ensure a good working relationship.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Service Manager or Maintenance Supervisor role with a truck or heavy equipment dealer, leasing company or large fleet.
  • Customer-focused professional with experience in process improvement, operations management, staffing, budget oversight, help desk administration, and performance tracking.
  • Skilled in analyzing information, developing operational standards, making informed decisions, and driving service excellence.
  • Knowledgeable in environmental regulations and compliance requirements affecting heavy truck repair shop operations.
  • Intermediate computer skills with effective use of MS Office and email software.
  • Minimum GED or ACE.
