About the Role

Wraparound Supported Living is seeking a dedicated, organized, and experienced Residential Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of Lenester House, an 8-bed residential group home supporting children and youth with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and intellectual disabilities.

The Residential Supervisor will be the primary on-site leader for the home, responsible for Ministry compliance, staff supervision and development, quality of care, daily operations, documentation, safety, and consistency across shifts. The successful candidate will oversee the overall functioning of the Supported Living program while collaborating with senior management, frontline staff, families, clinicians, schools, community partners, and other members of each child's support team.

Key Responsibilities

House Leadership & Daily Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the 8-bed Supported Living Residential Program in compliance with applicable Ministry standards.
• Ensure the home remains safe, organized, clean, welcoming, and appropriately staffed in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Ensure consistency in routines, expectations, programming, and support provided to children.
• Ensure each child's individualized needs, routines, preferences, safety considerations, and Plans of Care are understood and followed by staff in accordance with Ministry requirements and Wraparound policies.
• Identify operational concerns and take appropriate action to resolve them promptly in collaboration with management.
• Support staff in managing incidents and Serious Occurrences, including required documentation and communication with management and the Ministry.
• Meet, collaborate, and strategize with senior management regularly, including communicating significant incidents, staffing concerns, operational issues, and changes within the home.

Staff Supervision & Development

• Provide direct trauma-informed leadership, coaching, clinical guidance, and accountability to residential staff.
• Promote a professional, respectful, collaborative, and child-centeredworkplace culture.
• Monitor employee performance, attendance, punctuality, professionalism, and completion of assigned responsibilities.
• Provide ongoing feedback and address performance concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
• Participate in staff orientation, onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.
• Facilitate staff meetings.
• Ensure staff understand and follow organizational policies, procedures, behaviour support strategies, Safety Plans, and Plans of Care.
• Support staff following challenging incidents and participate in debriefing when appropriate.

Child & Youth Support

• Ensure children are supported in a respectful, trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and individualized manner that recognizes their identities and intersectional needs.
• Promote stability, relationship-building, independence, life skills, community participation, and positive experiences.
• Ensure children’s rights, dignity, privacy, culture, identities, choices, and personal preferences are respected.
• Support the development and implementation of structured daily routines and meaningful activities that enrich each child in the home.
• Collaborate with the Wraparound team to assess, develop, and implement clinically informed strategies that support each child's behaviour, health, emotional well-being, routines, growth, and development.
• Build positive relationships with children while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Documentation & Compliance

• Ensure required documentation is completed accurately, professionally, and on time in accordance with Ministry requirements.
• Review daily logs, incident reports, medication documentation, shift documentation, safety documentation, and other required records for compliance with Ministry requirements and Wraparound policies and procedures.
• Monitor staff compliance with organizational policies, Plans of Care, Safety Plans, and applicable Ministry requirements.
• Ensure required staff acknowledgements, training records, and house documentation remain current.
• Facilitate preparation for licensing, Ministry reviews, internal quality-assurance reviews, and inspections.

Health, Safety & Medication Oversight

• Ensure medication procedures and documentation requirements are consistently followed.
• Ensure emergency procedures, fire-safety requirements, food safety, allergy protocols, and individual medical instructions are understood and followed.
• Monitor the physical environment for hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or other safety issues.
• Ensure staff understand emergency procedures and their responsibilities during medical, behavioural, fire, or other emergency situations.

Scheduling & Staffing

• Assist with maintaining appropriate staffing levels for the home.
• Respond to staffing shortages, call-ins, scheduling concerns, and coverage needs.
• Help ensure shifts are appropriately structured based on the needs of the children in the home.
• Work collaboratively with management regarding staffing needs, employee performance, and scheduling concerns.
• Provide leadership support during urgent or unexpected situations affecting the home.

Communication & Collaboration

• Maintain consistent communication with senior management regarding the operation of the home.
• Collaborate with families, schools, clinicians, caseworkers, healthcare professionals, and community partners when required.
• Participate in meetings related to children’s care, progress, planning, safety, or placement.
• Ensure important information and changes are communicated clearly to the appropriate members of the team.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

Required

• Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Service Work, Developmental Services, Social Work, Behavioural Science, or a related human-services field.
• Previous experience working with children or youth in a residential, foster-care, developmental-services, mental-health, or similar setting.
• Solid knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the needs of children and youth with developmental disabilities or other complex needs.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or senior staff experience.
• Strong understanding of duty of care.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• Skilled at aligning team members with clear goals and commitments, setting clear expectations, and supporting staff to meet them while maintaining a collaborative leadership approach.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation.
• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Broad Record Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.

Preferred

• Previous experience supervising a staffed residential group home.
• Experience supporting children or youth with complex diagnoses that may include behavioural, developmental, emotional, medical, or mental-health needs.
• Knowledge of Ontario residential-care standards and applicable Ministry requirements.
• Experience with incident reporting, Plans of Care, Safety Plans, medication administration, behaviour support, staff training, and quality assurance.
• Experience participating in licensing or compliance reviews.

Compensation

$60,000–$65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
