Associated Environmental Consultants, part of the Associated Engineering Group of companies, is a proudly Canadian, employee-owned organization. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Junior Environmental Scientist to join our team in our Calgary office. In this role you will be responsible for delivering environmental field and and assessment services supporting project delivery while upholding a strong health and safety culture

What you’ll do:

  • Participate actively in promoting a strong health and safety culture in the team.
  • Communicate and coordinate with contractors.
  • Execute field programs, including collecting and analyzing field data from soil, surface and groundwater, water supply well drilling, borehole logging, and hydraulic well tests.
  • Evaluate data and technical reporting of:
    • groundwater monitoring;
    • aquifer testing;
    • soil sampling;
    • Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Support project managers, including developing work plans and project scheduling.

Does this sound like you?

  • Undergraduate (or graduate) degree in geology, geoscience, or environmental science.
  • Relevant work experience in a related field; consulting experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with technical and non-technical clients and contractors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working safely in remote areas and extreme environments and weather conditions.
  • Familiarity with Alberta regulations and guidelines.
  • Eligibility to become registered with a professional association (e.g., P. Geo., P.Ag.) is an asset.
  • A valid driver's licence.
