Job Summary
The Research Coordinator is essential to support research goals under the directions of the Research Team and the Principal Investigator in the Urology Clinical Research Unit. They will help ensure the smooth and efficient execution of clinical studies in urologic oncology. This role is central to ensuring trials are conducted ethically, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The Research Coordinator will work closely with investigators, sponsors, and participants to help improve patient care. This is an in-person role involving direct patient interaction.
Rate of Pay: $34.40 - $43.00 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 1 year (possibility for renewal)
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Coordinate the daily operations of assigned clinical trials in urologic oncology

Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements
-
Recruit, screen, and enroll eligible participants
-
Obtain informed consent and guide participants through study procedures
-
Perform routine assessments in accordance with study protocol
-
Collect, record and maintain accurate study data
-
Monitor patient progress and report adverse events
-
Prepare and maintain regulatory documents
-
Serve as a liaison between investigators, sponsors, and monitors
-
Support site monitoring visits, audits, and reporting requirements
Qualifications
-
Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, or related field
-
Completion of clinical trials management program or CCRP (preferred)
-
Minimum 2-3 years recent related experience in clinical research or healthcare, oncology preferred
-
Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory guidelines
-
Experience with Powerchart, REDCap, WREM, REDA, LORA preferred
-
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
-
Team oriented, self-aware and flexible to changing work priorities
-
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a high level of initiative and motivation
-
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
