Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting research activities by conducting experiments, analyzing data, and ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory processes. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about scientific research and possess strong technical skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory experiments following established protocols and procedures.
- Utilize R and Python for data analysis and visualization to support research projects.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, and results in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the preparation of samples, reagents, and solutions as needed for various experiments.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize laboratory processes.
- Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and cleaned.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Experience
- Degree in Genetics , Related Life Science s or BS Medical Laboratory Science
- Hands on experience in DNA amplification, quantification and library preparation is preferred
- Demonstrated troubleshooting, decision making and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player who is self-directed and adaptable to new technologies and processes
- Report failures, issues and action taken to immediate supervisor
- Practice and perform required procedures with accuracy and precision within defined time expectations
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and records of testing
- Ensure SOP are maintained and reflect current laboratory practice and safety guidelines are followed
- Hands on experience in Illumina or NGS sequencing is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
