Remote Concept Art jobs

Sock Rocket is currently seeking a junior graphic designer to join our busy team on a short term contract to help us through a project. This is a 3 week contract (120 hours, $3000 total) and is fully remote. Are you looking for some fun and unique technical work experience? Sock Rocket is a Canadian social enterprise founded in 2016. We design and build awesome socks, and for every pair we produce we also donate three pairs to Canadian agencies providing clothing to those in need. To date, we've donated over 950,000 pairs of socks to over 600 different organizations across Canada. We’re expanding, and we want to bring you aboard!

What you'll do:

· Build sock designs and mockup packs, working directly under our lead designer and closely with our sales and marketing teams

· Work within our software stack (CRM / Adobe Suite / Google Drive / Slack) to build and organize files accordingly

· Collaborate with our core team during working hours

· Participate in team meetings

· Follow direction and provide feedback wherever possible to maintain and improve the process

· Crack jokes at every opportunity

What you'll need (hard skills / must-haves):

· Qualified experience and/or training in graphic design with a keen eye for design standards; a formal education is not required but would be an asset

· Experience in a production design environment

· 2+ years of experience working with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

· Strong understanding of colour theory

· Ability to create and convert assets to vector graphics

· Creativity and willingness to experiment

· Reasonable comfort level working with AI

· Ability to work quickly and multi-task with efficiency (hotkeys, y’all)

· Active Abobe Suite license with full desktop versions of AI and PS

· Modern workstation with dual monitors and reliable internet

What would be great to have (soft skills / assets):

· Experience working in a B2B environment and/or with large corporate clients

· Familiarity with corporate brand standards and guidelines

· Strong file / folder organization skills

· Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for crushing deadlines

· Experience with product / lifestyle photography

· Basic understanding of bitmap files

· Passion for social enterprise
