Full job description

ACCN is currently seeking instructors to teach JAVA, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Web Dev, and/or other STEM topics online over the summer.

Responsibilities:

· Teach JAVA, Web Dev, 3D CAD software, or other STEM topics online to middle/high school students as well as deliver in person intro to robotics/electronics with arduino camps.

· Create an energetic, professional, safe, and fun environment during the programs

· Facilitate the designed curriculum modules and ensure the tasks are completed by the students in the sessions

· Grade assignments

· Provide encouragement and constructive feedback to participants

· Prepare reports that are shared with leadership and parents/guardians

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

· Experience in JAVA and/ or python

· Experience in HTML/CSS/Javascript

· Experience with 3D CAD software (Onshape, Solidworks, Fusion 360, etc)

· Experience in teaching and or tutoring high school students

· Ability to learn new technologies to teach students

· Ability to guide volunteers and program assistants to manage sessions and successfully run the programs

· Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students and adults

· Have a criminal record check done or be ready for one

The ideal candidate will have:

· Knowledge in using Onshape (3D CAD software to be taught)

· Experience in robotics and designing parts using 3D CAD

· Strong understanding of coding across various languages

· The Ability to research and quickly understand topics to proficiently teach said topic

· Experience in STEM studies, activities

Duration: July 2026 - August 2026

Eligibility:

Under Canada Summer Jobs, the candidate must be one who :

  • is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act *; and
  • is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

* International students are not eligible. Recent Immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
