The Sarnia Fractionation Facility supports the processing, storage, transportation, and fractionation of NGLs into liquid petroleum gas products, including propane and butane. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a complex NGL fractionation facility, with progressive development toward broader plant operating responsibilities over time.

This is a temporary (12 month) contract opportunity working a 3-on/3-off rotating shift schedule, including days and nights from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Safely loading, offloading, connecting, disconnecting, gauging, and sealing NGL railcars in accordance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verifying railcar numbers, product information, loading instructions, and railcar placement to support safe and accurate product movement.
  • Supporting daily rail loading activities, including railcar inspection, preparation, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external rail partners.
  • Monitoring product movement, flow rates, equipment performance, and loading requirements to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Performing equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and routine operational tasks related to loading equipment, pumps, valves, and associated systems.
  • Supporting equipment start-up, shutdown, isolation, and safe work activities as training and qualifications progress.
  • Maintaining accurate logs, records, reports, and documentation related to loading/offloading activities and facility operations.
  • Identifying, escalating, and supporting the resolution of operational, equipment, safety, and environmental concerns.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area, including rail loading areas, equipment, and facility workspaces.
  • Following all site safety standards, operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies, including drug and alcohol, environmental, and process safety requirements.
  • Working effectively as part of a team in a dynamic facility environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Participating in training and development activities to build knowledge of NGL fractionation, facility operations, and safe operating practices.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in rail operations, oil and gas facilities, pipelines, terminals, or a related industrial environment.
  • Chemical Production Engineering Technology (CPET) / TSSA Compressor ticket / 4thclass power engineering certification preferred.
  • Permanent residency within 100 km of the Sarnia Facility
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract)
  • This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Previous experience with NGL, LPG, railcar loading, product movement, plant operations, pipeline operations, or terminal operations would be considered an asset.
