Located in Northern Ontario, approximately 1.5 hours from both Timmins and Sudbury, this opportunity offers more than just a job in quality control—it’s a chance to play a key role in maintaining high standards across operations while enjoying an exceptional lifestyle. The region is known for its outstanding fishing and hunting, scenic golf courses, and year-round outdoor recreation. For candidates who take pride in detail, accuracy, and continuous improvement, this role offers the perfect balance of meaningful work and quality of life.

The Quality Coordinator (Night Shift) supports the Project Management and Construction teams by implementing and maintaining the Project Quality Management System on large-scale mining infrastructure projects, including Tailings Management Facility (TMF) construction and overland HDPE Tailings pipelines.

This role is responsible for coordinating inspections, managing QA/QC documentation, verifying construction activities against Issued for Construction (IFC) requirements, and ensuring quality records are properly maintained and closed out. The Quality Coordinator works closely with construction, engineering, client representatives, and third-party inspectors to ensure work is completed in compliance with project specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and administer the Project Quality Plan in compliance with contract requirements, client specifications, TMF governance, and regulatory standards
  • Verify that construction activities comply with IFC drawings, approved procedures, technical specifications, and permit conditions
  • Develop, maintain, and track Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for earthworks, concrete, HDPE pipelines, and TMF civil works, including hold and witness points
  • Coordinate inspections and quality requirements with engineering, construction teams, Allnorth, client representatives, and site quality personnel
  • Manage HDPE pipeline and welding QA/QC documentation, including welder certifications, weld logs and maps, fusion records, inspections, and pressure testing in accordance with ASTM and CSA standards
  • Maintain earthworks and civil QA/QC records, including backfill releases, compaction results, lift thickness verification, and material approvals
  • Coordinate geotechnical testing and verify acceptance criteria for TMF dams, access roads, and associated civil works
  • Log, track, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), supporting corrective actions, root cause analysis, and lessons learned
  • Maintain complete QA/QC and environmental documentation and prepare quality turnover packages to support project close-out
  • Provide regular quality status reporting and support client and regulatory audits
  • Conduct environmental inspections, manage incident and spill documentation, and ensure compliance with waste management, fuel handling, and permit requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in QA/QC, quality coordination, or a related role within mining, civil construction, or heavy industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, concrete, HDPE piping, and civil construction quality requirements
  • Ability to interpret IFC drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with ASTM, CSA, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QA/QC documentation systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience working on TMF or large-scale mining projects is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently on night shift in a site-based environment

Working Conditions

  • Site-based role at an active mining project
  • Night shift schedule
  • Exposure to construction and industrial work environments
  • May involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Requires adherence to site safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
