Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in resident care and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills. This role is vital in providing high-quality nursing care to residents of our LTC. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhance the overall patient experience.

You may be eligible for the Community Commitment for Nurses (CCPN) - $25,000 for a two-year commitment. If you have not been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired, some conditions may apply.

Duties

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and document medical histories accurately.
  • Utilize electronic health record - PointClickCare for documentation and communication.
  • Provide pain management strategies and support for residents experiencing acute or chronic pain.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective case management and continuity of care.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures and laboratory tests as required.
  • Educate patients and families on health management, treatment plans, and medication administration.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and best practices in nursing.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the CNO
  • Previous long term care experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (PointClickCare).
  • Strong skills in patient care, nursing practices, phlebotomy techniques, and medication administration.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to nursing practice.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate attitude towards patient care with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English

Pay: $39.28-$51.85 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Lions Head, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
