Full job description

Key Activities

  • Provides Little Red River Cree Nation (LRRCN) with leadership through project management, and administrative services, support with operational planning, long-term and strategic objectives specific to community health.
  • Utilizes knowledge of health systems theories, concepts, and principles to support the development of policies, procedures, and programs for optimal health of the community.
  • Establishes detailed project charters, plans, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Drives the execution of project plans using established methodologies to ensure the seamless, coordinated delivery of all project components while managing stakeholder consultations and implementation readiness.
  • Monitors project milestones and performance metrics, providing transparent reporting on status and barriers. Proactively delivers strategic recommendations to Health Director regarding scope adjustments to ensure project success.
  • Develops evidence-informed and data-driven communication for complex and differing stakeholder groups including reports, briefing notes, project updates, and presentations to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Supports and advises on health human resources, including the recruitment and retention of both health professionals and administrative staff, ensuring that appropriate expertise is available within the staff teams.
  • Provide guidance to Health Director and teams on general and specific health issues. This includes participation in discussions with both internal and external groups.
  • Integrates knowledge of both historic and contemporaneous factors that affect health for Indigenous Peoples. This is not limited to knowledge of political, social, structural, economic, and cultural factors.
  • Collaborates with senior health leadership across government, communities, and institutions as requested and required.
  • Advises the Health Director by providing input about the implications of decisions and change on community health.
  • Promotes data-driven health systems development, change, and evaluation led by community-based priorities.
  • Practices at all times in adherence with regulatory standards of practice. For example, College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)- Practice Standards.
  • Works effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve barriers in a timely manner.
  • Senior health nurse Fulfil the role of health service Quality and client services Safety lead.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a health-related field of study including Nursing, Health Services, Public Health, Health Administration, or deemed appropriate by the hiring board.
  • Registered health professional licensed in Alberta with no practice restrictions or conditions.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a registered health professional.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with First Nation, Metis or Inuit institutions or governments on health.
  • Experience leading large, complex projects from planning phase to implementation and evaluation.
  • Experience working in research or statistics with large health datasets utilizing and analysing information to support priorities or projects.
  • Experience in producing and presenting both written and oral updates to varied audiences including leadership, community members, and stakeholders.

Pay: $150,000.00-$170,000.00 per year
