Uni-Select Inc. (USI) is Canada’s leader in the distribution of automotive parts, tools and equipment to the automotive aftermarket. It is in an exciting growth phase delivering strong financial results including currently operating nearly 60 Bumper to Bumper corporate stores with the goal of continuing to increase that number across Canada through acquisitions.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Regional Director is responsible for leading and directing the financial and operational performance of all branches in a specified territory. Working closely with Branch Managers, assures all stores in their region run smoothly, are complying with Company practices and processes, and meeting their financial performance targets.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall performance of assigned regional branches
- Responsible for continuous and demonstrable improvement of productivity resulting in increased cost effectiveness and value (operational and workforce efficiency).
- Strives to continuously improve the caliber of people through HR selection and developmental activities
- Responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with the customer(s).
- Supports the Talent Review process to ensure top talent is identified and effectively utilized in the organization.
- Proactive in identifying and removing barriers to support staff performance, ensuring individual and group excellence.
- Manages the P & L targets and operating budget for assigned territory.
- Manages the store growth through labour productivity and efficient operational practices
- Develops relevant industry expertise to understand market trends impacting their customers and territory.
- Adopts and implements standard Bumper to Bumper practices to achieve store optimization/synergies including the supporting processes.
- Challenges current ways of doing things (conventional practices), pursues ongoing process improvements, creates and evaluates new solutions. New solutions may be adopted nationally within Bumper to Bumper organization as a new business practice.
- Ensures stores employees have adopted and are in compliance with the Bumper to Bumper Standard Operating Procedures for all roles. Ensure employees understand requirements as per SOP Manuals.
- Provides performance feedback and engages Human Resources for performance improvement actions as appropriate.
- Ensures all HR policies and practices are adhered to.
- Provides onsite training to store level staff as required.
- Complete all safety training requirements and promotes safety within branches
- Coach and guide Branch Managers and branch staff
- Responsible for regional budgeting
- In alignment with Branch Managers, establish level expectations through performance objectives
- Plan for growth and development
- Be a positive role model to all staff, providing leadership, guidance and direction
- Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager and Branch Managers to establish level expectations through performance objectives
- Communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions.
- Participate in recruitment and interviewing of key branch personnel, when necessary.
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Product Management teams to optimize inventory investment and gross margin performance.
- Work with Regional Customer Service Manager to ensure Standard Operating Procedures are being followed.
- Review monthly financial results against targets with Branch Managers.
- Travel to branches required, approximately 70%.
- Lead new store openings, where applicable.
Expertise et compétences essentielles :
- Bachelor degree or diploma in a business related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8-10 years’ experience as a manager or supervisor, with strong leadership skills
- Industry related experience an asset
- Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized, and have the ability to multi-task
