The Company


B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Millwright, Nunavut


Location and Reporting Structure


Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Services Trades, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.


Responsibilities


  • Assemble, install, align, service and repair site service equipment, including (but not limited to) pumps, fans, tanks, generators, heating equipment, small engine equipment, general plumbing, incinerator, and facility equipment (kitchen, dry's, bathrooms, workshops).
  • Diagnose, repair, and complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Fitting, welding, and cutting as required.
  • Read, understand, and interpret prints to complete required work in a safe and efficient manner. Provide support for maintenance systems in surface environment.
  • Inspect equipment for proper performance. Adjust, repair, and diagnose areas of improvement.
  • Document and report on repairs, maintenance, and diagnosis on all work completed.
  • Operate mobile equipment as required. Manage incoming calls from operators and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Participate in toolbox safety meetings to promote compliance with B2Gold Nunavut's safety procedures and policies.


Desired Competencies and Requirements


  • Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright certification or Nunavut Industrial Mechanic CoQ.
  • Four (4) years’ post-qualification experience in mining or heavy industry, with preference given to those with experience working in remote camp settings with limited access to resources.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Associated certifications, such as (but not limited to) Overhead Crane, Aerial Work Platform (AWP), rigging certificates, HEO Ticket, Pipe Fusing, or related considered an asset.


Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $157,092.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $57.00 and overtime rate of $85.50) in a work year.
