We are looking for a Meat Expert who is passionate about food and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team environment!

Position:
Meat Expert


As a Meat Expert, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • As a primarily guest-facing role, the Meat Expert is responsible for engaging with Guests in a friendly and professional manner, consistently delivering remarkable service.
  • Sharing your knowledge of various meat cuts and recommending appropriate options based on Guests’ preferences and serving needs.
  • Expertly cutting a variety of meats across all species for both display and custom Guest requests.
  • Offering suitable product substitutes and helpful suggestions to meet individual Guest needs and preferences.
  • Preparing specialty and custom meat cuts to order, ensuring precision and presentation quality.
  • Advising Guests on proper cutting techniques, portion sizes, and preparation tips to elevate their cooking experience.
  • Offering product samples and recommendations to assist Guests in making confident, informed purchasing decisions.
  • Assisting with department setup, product displays, and maintaining a visually appealing presentation.
  • Assisting with department closing procedures.
  • Monitoring product freshness through regular date checks and effective stock rotation.
  • Adhering to all food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.


What We're Looking For:

  • Proficient in meat cutting, including all species, with expert use of a bandsaw.
  • Skilled in preparing meat for both back-of-house and service case presentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of meat cuts and a variety of meat types.
  • Outstanding guest service skills with a warm, approachable demeanor.
  • Strong understanding of raw materials, production techniques, and quality control standards.
  • A dependable team player who excels in collaborative environments.
  • A genuine passion for the food industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
  • Culinary background or experience is considered an asset


Work Environment:

  • This position is based in a dynamic retail store setting.
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts is required
