Role Summary

Agrocrop Exports Ltd. is seeking a Merchandise Handler to manage the flow of goods, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory control. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing merchandise, maintaining an organized workspace, and conducting regular stock checks. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of finished goods ready for retail, operating power equipment and machinery, and supplying the raw materials required for daily production. This position is open for an 8 hours morning and afternoon shift.

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Pay Rate: $22-24/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Review the production schedule to ensure a clear understanding of daily requirements.
  • Keep the Case Erector Magazine stocked with the correct number of boxes according to the schedule.
  • At the end of the run, ensure the magazine has enough boxes to finish the run, return any leftover boxes to the pallet, secure them with shrink wrap, and inform the driver for proper handling.
  • Ensure the hopper is kept full in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Verify and scan any raw material before dumping it into the hopper.
  • Collect any underweight or overweight bags from packaging before changing over to a different product.
  • Ensure all garbage and cardboard bins are emptied at the end of the shift.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 1-2 years of experience in a production line
  • Food industry experience is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to explain ideas clearly and motivate and inspire team members.

Shift Requirements

  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime, weekends, or extended hours to support production requirements, customer demand, and operational needs.
  • Must be capable of supporting shift startup, shift handovers, and end-of-shift reporting activities.

Working Conditions

  • 100% of the day is spent standing
