Position

HiRoad is hiring experienced and competent Signals & Communications Railway Foremen who are expected to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair S&C equipment under demanding timelines, and in all weather conditions across Canada.

ONLY those with MULTIPLE years work experience in Signals & Communications will be considered for this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years S&C experience as a Foreman
  • Minimum 4 years S&C experience
  • CROR Operating Rules
  • Ability to Pass e-Railsafe online test
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Abstract
  • Able to lift over 75lbs
  • Willingness to learn and use company software
  • Must pay attention to detail, follow instructions, communicate effectively, while keeping your workspace/equipment clean and tidy.
  • Must be willing to physically work alongside crew, sharing in completion of ALL tasks

Job Duties

Perform all duties of an experienced S&C foreman including but not limited to:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical S&C equipment Work long hours, predominantly outdoors, in all weather conditions, and away from home Capable of making effective decisions in unfamiliar locations or when responding to changes or interruptions in work processes.
  • Keep yourself and team safe at all times
  • Maintain documents, records, and reports as required
  • Communicate with HiRoad and Railway management
  • Work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Train and supervise apprentices and labourers

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • ATP qualification from any major railway
  • Commercial Drivers license, Air Brake, Heavy Trailer endorsement
  • Formal education in electrical and related fields such as math or physics
