Full job description
- Safely work with an Operations crew to move railcars during switching, yard movements, and travel to customer facilities or interchanges;
- Communicate professionally with customers, crew members, and railway partners to support safe operations;
- Represent BWRS through a strong commitment to customer service, teamwork, and operational reliability;
- Contribute to a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability in the workplace;
- Observe hand and radio signals in the yard in accordance with railroad rules and regulations;
- Operate track switches as needed;
- Perform procedures required to couple/uncouple rail cars;
- Apply hand brakes on rail cars not in active use; and
- Ensure proper permissions and authorities are obtained.
Qualifications
- Minimum grade 12 diploma completion or GED equivalent;
- Must have experience as a Conductor;
- Must be in good physical condition; and
- Must have a clean and valid BC driver’s license, Class 5 minimum.
