Medical Office Assistant (MOA) – Full Time

Location: 300-1133 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC, V7M 2H4

Job Type: Full-time-Hybrid

Start Date: Summer 2026 – approx. August 4, 2026, may be flexible

North Shore Medical Group is a multi-physician family practice seeking a dedicated, experienced, and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our clinic.

We are looking for an MOA to join a team of current MOAs that support a group of 5 family doctors using Accuro EMR, including: Dr. Jonathan Hislop, Dr. Alyson McCabe, Dr. Anita Lee, Dr. Louise Corcoran, and Dr. Krystine Sambor.

We are excited to welcome someone who is reliable, professional, mature, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate professional and mature patient interactions, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment. Previous medical office experience is required. The successful candidate must be able to multitask effectively, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and work collaboratively within a team.

This role is a combination of background support, cross-coverage, and in-office assistance. The MOA should be flexible, organized, and comfortable working with multiple doctors and staff members.

Responsibilities

Reception & Administrative

Greet and room patients with professionalism and compassion.

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage referrals.

Handle referrals to specialists and diagnostic services with accuracy and efficiency.

Process radiology and lab bookings.

Handle MSP, private billing, WCB, ICBC, and third-party billings.

Manage scanning, electronic filing, and preparation of letters.

Maintain clinic inventory and ensure exam rooms are fully stocked each day.

Ensure a clean and organized clinic environment.

Support ongoing office policies, procedures, and regular staff meetings.

Review overdue interventions and recall patients as required.

Clinical Support

Take accurate patient measurements for adults and children.

Perform blood pressure checks, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy testing.

Prepare vaccines, procedure trays (PAPs, IUD insertion/removal, biopsies, sutures), and document accurately.

Package and send lab specimens.

Conduct autoclaving/sterilization of medical instruments.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 1 years of medical office or healthcare experience, or equivalent education/training.

MOA program completion preferred.

Accuro EMR experience is an asset, although not necessary.

Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and adaptability.

Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy clinic environment.

Knowledge of medical terminology and billing processes considered an asset.

A clear Criminal Record Check is required.

Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional ethics.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting wage: $21-25/hour, commensurate on experience level

Benefits: Eligible to participate in the clinic benefits plan after a 90-day probationary period including:

· Extended Health care

· Dental care

· Vision care

Work Schedule: Regular clinic hours are between Monday to Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, excluding statutory holidays. Hours may vary based on operational needs. Goal of 25-37.5 hours per week for this position, exact hours TBD.

Work Location: Hybrid of in-person and remote work from home required. MOA is required to have a private space they can work in from home.
