Associated Imaging Consultants (AIC) Incorporated, the business group of 51 sub-specialized radiologists based at the QEII Health Sciences Centre (QEII), Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking to hire a Head and Neck Radiologist (NOC 31100) to join the section of Head and Neck Radiology. The position will hold appointments with Nova Scotia Health and with the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University. This is a 3-year position.

AIC Inc. is located at 1276 South Park Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the Victoria General Hospital, which is part of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. The QEII Health Sciences Centre is the largest adult tertiary care centre in Atlantic Canada and is part of Nova Scotia Health. It is the core adult clinical teaching facility for Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Medicine. In addition to residency programs in Diagnostic Radiology, Neuroradiology and Nuclear Medicine, the Department of Diagnostic Imaging offers a variety of fellowship programs. The Department is affiliated with the Biomedical Translational Imaging Centre (BIOTIC), a lab conducting research in high field strength magnetic resonance imaging, and preclinical imaging devices and techniques.

Requirements

· The successful candidate will be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (“FRCPC”) or equivalent, in Diagnostic Radiology and have subspecialty training in Head and Neck Radiology; Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree;

· Clinical expertise in diagnostic head and neck radiology, including advanced CT and MRI imaging, is essential;

· The ideal candidate will have an academic track record in education and research, demonstrated ability to attract research funding, and a strong desire to advance the field of Head and Neck Radiology in research, education and clinical excellence;

· Academic rank will be in accordance with prior achievements;

· Must have the ability to fluently speak and write English as the language of work will be English.

Hours

Weekly hours are flexible; however, an average of 30 hours per week will be required

Responsibilities

· There are strong working relationships with the ENT, OMF, medical and radiation oncology colleagues and participation in and contribution to provincial multidisciplinary tumour boards and the multidisciplinary clinic is expected. Interest in developing collaboration with the School of Dentistry is advantageous;

· Interpret and supervise CT, MRI, and plain radiographs of the head, neck and spine;

· Participate in daily teaching and supervision of medical students, Diagnostic Radiology residents, off-service residents and neuroradiology fellows;

· Participate in MRI sequence optimization and teaching of MRI technologists specific to head and neck imaging;

· Participate in providing on-call service for diagnostic neuroradiology on an equitable basis with members of the Neuroradiology Section.

Salary & Benefits

· $430,000 annually

· Time off: 10-weeks unpaid
