Full job description

At Canada Diagnostic Centres, we are driven by helping Canadians access diagnostic services and providing remarkable experiences to our patients every day. Our care is compassionate, accurate and timely to help patients make progress in their health journey. We live by a mantra of “Remarkable Care. Remarkable Careers.”

We are currently looking for a certified, or soon to be certified, X-Ray Technologist - Rotator (Medical Radiation Technologist - Rotator) to join our expanding outpatient clinics in a full-time or part-time position. As an X-Ray Technologist - Rotator, you will play a valuable role in helping to increase patient access by providing coverage across clinics during periods of increased demand and team member absences. Working collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, you’ll explain procedures, position patients, adjust equipment, and capture diagnostic images. Bringing compassion and clarity to each patient interaction, you’ll help ensure remarkable care every visit.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support Clinic Operations: Provide coverage for both planned and unplanned absences, including vacations, training, same-day sick calls, and personal emergencies.
  • Perform X-Ray Exams: Conduct standardized and complex imaging under the direction of Radiologists and referring Physicians, while adhering to departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • Provide Remarkable Care: Explain exams and procedures, address questions, ease concerns, and help patients feel comfortable.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Teams: Partner with radiologists and other teams to help deliver a seamless and thoughtful experience.
  • Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development to refine existing skills, build new competencies, and cross-train in additional modalities such as Bone Mineral Density, Mammography, or specialized procedures in Fluoroscopy.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow privacy, confidentiality, safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Systems: Track X-Ray equipment performance, document findings, and assist in resolving basic issues.
  • Prepare and Maintain Work Areas: Prepare and stock exam rooms for patient exams and procedures; report low inventory as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional Membership: Active registration (or eligibility) with CAMRT & ACMDTT or CSCLXT & ACCLXT.
  • X-Ray Experience: Clinical competency in radiography.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Exposure to fluoroscopy, mammography, bone mineral density or interventional x-ray procedures is an asset, with an interest in expanding skills.
  • A Compassionate Approach: A history of remarkable care, collaboration, adaptability, and flexibility.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Pay: Industry-leading wages and unique additional earning opportunities.
  • Additional Compensation: Elevate your earnings with a 4% premium added to your base hourly rate for your flexibility with shifts and locations.
  • Sign-On Bonus: A welcome incentive for joining our team (terms and conditions apply).
  • Relocation Allowance: Financial assistance for eligible candidates to help with moving expenses.
  • Generous Time Off: Vacation, personal days, sick leave, and paid time off for your birthday.
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus access to our Employee & Family Assistance Program.
  • Learning & Development: Specialized training opportunities, along with an annual education allowance.
  • Comprehensive Onboarding: Hands-on structured training.
  • Long-Term Savings Program: RRSP/TFSA plan.
  • Professional Licensing Support: Funding for CAMRT and ACMDTT, or CSCLXT and ACCLXT, memberships and insurance.
  • Income Protection: Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Life Insurance: Employer-paid coverage.

Additional Information

  • Position Types: Full-time or part-time options to align with your schedule and career goals. Part-time schedules include three or four fixed days per week, depending on FTE.
  • Work Location: Rotator roles require working across multiple locations to provide staffing coverage and respond to patient demand and short notice operational needs. Clinic assignments will be discussed during the candidacy process and guided by operational needs and professional development, with preferences considered where possible.
  • Out-of-Province Applicants: Eligibility for registration with CAMRT and ACMDTT, or CSCLXT & ACCLXT is required.
  • Students and Recent Graduates: Applications welcome.
