We are actively seeking motivated, reliable, and hardworking individuals to join our Municipal Division as Labourer/Flagger for the 2026 season. What is the role?

Labourer

• Ability to operate shovels and small hand tool
• Assist skilled trades people and perform a wide range of tasks at construction sites
• Loading, unloading, identifying, and distributing materials and equipment
• Cleaning and preparation of construction sites
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed

Flagger

• Using hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites
• Communicating with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane
• Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
• Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites
• Setting up barricades and traffic cones along construction sites to cordon off certain areas
• Removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work
• Assisting the construction crew in the removal of rubble, debris, and hazardous materials
• Recording the license plate numbers of motorists who neglect to obey traffic signs and directions
• Other duties as assigned

What do we value?

Labourer

• Minimum of 2 years of labour experience; preferably road base experience
• Minimum Class 5 license required
• Take direction and can execute the work with limited supervision
• Overtime and weekend work is required
• Successful candidates must be able to meet pre-employment testing requirements

Flagger

• Class 5 Drivers license with a clean driving record
• Experience in either Traffic Control or Construction industries is an asset
• Traffic Control Training Certification preferred
• Sound knowledge of traffic regulations
• Able to stand for extended period in harsh weather conditions
• Team player
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional observation skills
• Effective communication skills
