Sucro Can Canada Inc. is a leader in the sugar refining industry. Sucro is the first sugar refinery in Canada to open its doors in more than 60 years. With offices in the United States, Mexico, Colombia, and Trinidad & Tobago, we pride ourselves on efficient operational models and continued growth. Sucro strives to remain a rapidly growing and dynamic sugar trade partner for sugar mills, processors, distributors and industrial customers.

We are looking for three (3) experienced and skilled Metal Fabricators for our facility in Hamilton, Ontario. We are offering a full-time position (40 hours per week) and a salary of $36.92 per hour to every successful candidate.

The successful candidate will perform the following job duties:

  • Fabricate, assemble, weld, fit and install metal components and structures.
  • Work from patterns and blueprints, using a variety of tools and machines.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Use a variety of tools to work with metal.
  • Operate cutting saws to cut various metals, and weld and grind fabricated structures to meet structural requirements.
  • Perform detailed quality checks to ensure that it meets all standards and requirements.
  • Document work and results and keep records of labor and materials used.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of industrial metal fabrication experience in a sugar refinery
  • Welding experience or AWS certification.
  • Argon specialization
  • Press Brake Operator experience.
  • Must be familiar with and understand the operation and repair and maintenance requirements of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, breaks and presses, tanks, boilers, and condensers.
  • Must be familiar with the use of grinders and saws
  • Ability to lift more than fifty pounds.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
  • Ability to operate different tools, and to troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
