As part of the financial services tax team at PwC, you will focus on offering compliance, consulting and advisory services to clients on various tax matters. You will provide advice and guidance on tax compliance, planning, and strategy, helping financial institutions optimise their tax positions and navigate complex tax regulations.

The Opportunity:

As a Financial Services Corporate Tax Senior Manager, unlock your potential and embrace the chance to drive meaningful outcomes that’ll elevate your career. Your role will include, but isn’t limited to:

  • Lead client engagements across financial services sectors including asset and wealth management, insurance, and banking
  • Deliver high-quality tax compliance and advisory services, including corporate tax filings, provisions, and structuring advice
  • Provide strategic guidance on Canadian and cross-border tax matters, including multi-jurisdictional implications
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively develop solutions that align with business and tax objectives
  • Move between big-picture strategy and technical detail to deliver practical, actionable insights
  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and inclusion
  • Drive business development activities, including proposals, identifying opportunities, and growing client relationships
  • Champion innovation, including automation, process improvement, and the use of analytics and emerging technologies
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders through clear and impactful communication
  • Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct

What You’ll Bring

Your skills, knowledge, and experiences are what set you apart. Here's what we look for:

  • CPA designation (or equivalent) with completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or MTax as a strong asset
  • Extensive experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory within financial services or a public accounting firm, including oversight of complex, large-scale engagements
  • Deep technical expertise in Canadian corporate tax, with strong exposure to cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters, and ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex client issues
  • A strategic leader with a proven ability to build and manage senior client relationships, provide trusted advisor insight, and drive high-quality client service delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams, including developing future leaders and fostering an inclusive, collaborative team environment
  • Strong business development acumen, with a track record of leading proposals, identifying and converting growth opportunities, and contributing to practice development
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, sound business judgment, and a solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver practical, value-driven outcomes
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and client focus
  • Proficiency in leveraging current technologies, with a strong interest in innovation and applying GenAI to enhance client service and team efficiency

The salary range for this position is $128,900 - $178,900. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
