Full job description

Position Title: Accountant

Location: Coeur d’Alene or Vancouver Corporate Office

Purpose: Manage functions of the financial reporting processes, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, systems of internal controls and regulatory compliance

Reports To: Senior Accountant, Corporate

The Accountant performs a key role in supporting the Company’s internal and external financial reporting processes. The Accountant will perform all tasks assigned in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and systems of internal control.

The Accountant is an important part of the Finance & Accounting Team in helping to achieve department goals and objectives.

The following are key responsibilities of this role:

  • Prepares journal entries at month-end for the corporate ledger or other business units, including ERP system close and consolidation of subsidiaries
  • Adheres to a monthly financial close schedule to ensure timely completion of work
  • Assists with preparation monthly internal financial report and cost center reports
  • Assists with preparation and review of SEC filings, and builds knowledge of SEC and other public company reporting issues
  • Records payroll data and accounts payable related entries into ERP
  • Prepares account and bank reconciliations and investigates discrepancies
  • Maintains integrity and periodic maintenance of intercompany accounts
  • Reviews weekly payment preparations to ensure proper support and authorization
  • Assist with GAAP and SEC reporting guidance research in the development of company positions and approaches on technical accounting issues
  • Assists with execution of internal controls
  • Works cross-functionally with Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, and Treasury personnel to provide inputs for and review of their information
  • Assists with internal and external audits, providing documentation, reports and information, as requested
  • Supports accounting and reporting activities related to business combinations or divestitures
  • Performs other work as assigned

  • Able to demonstrate discretion and discernment in all business matters
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner

Education & Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related discipline
  • Relevant experience in financial reporting, and knowledge of accounting systems and practices, with 2-3 years of experience
  • Practical knowledge of the mining industry and/or manufacturing processes, is helpful
  • Licensed as a CPA or CPA candidate is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$96,000.00 per year
