Full job description
Dragonfly Counselling & Support Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization supporting children, youth, and adults impacted by sexual abuse or assault and providing education and prevention programming related to sexual violence. DCSC provides services to communities such as Athabasca, Slave Lake, Wabasca, Smoky Lake, Bonnyville, Cold Lake, Lac La Biche, St. Paul and other rural and/or remote locations including Metis and First Nations communities.
We are looking for a Communications & Design Coordinator to join our multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will elevate DCSC’s visual identity and expand our public reach. Working closely with the Administration & Communications Manager, Education department, and Client Service team, you will turn complex program information into compelling trauma informed visuals, execute social media campaigns, and manage day-to-day communications efforts.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain DCSC’s visual identity, brand boards, and style guides across all media platforms.
- Design print and digital assets, including program resources, workshop materials, event collateral, and presentations using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Source and edit trauma informed graphics suited for the diverse communities we serve.
- Proofread, test, and quality check all layouts for visual appeal, accessibility, and consistency before distribution.
- Partner with the Administration & Communications Manager to execute and evaluate DCSC’s annual communications strategy.
- Draft external messaging, media releases, newsletters, and website updates.
- Identify fresh promotional concepts to boost community awareness of DCSC services.
- Monitor, track, and report on campaign metrics to guide future strategy.
- Manage DCSC’s social media strategy, content calendars, and daily community engagement.
- Plan and run targeted public awareness campaigns
- Maintain and enhance DCSC’s web presence to expand community reach.
- Partner with Client Service and Education teams to translate specialized program content into clear visual formats.
- Collaborate on grant-related deliverables, ensuring reports, proposals, and promos meet funder deadlines.
- Assist with the facilitation of education and public awareness initiatives as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Background in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and social media management tools.
- Strong commitment to trauma informed, accessible design and communication practices.
- Excellent project coordination, proofreading, and cross-team collaboration skills.
