Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, overseeing daily operations, financial performance, staff leadership, guest satisfaction, and brand standards. This role requires a strong hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
  • Maintain brand standards for food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and atmosphere
  • Monitor service flow and adjust staffing and operations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop all management and hourly staff
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture
  • Lead by example on the floor during peak service times
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
  • Address disciplinary issues professionally and consistently

Financial & Business Management

  • Manage budgets, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and operating expenses
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • Drive revenue through promotions, events, and upselling strategies
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and financial controls alongside the franchise office

Marketing & Community Engagement

  • Support and execute marketing initiatives and local promotions
  • Build strong relationships within the Jungle Jim’s brand
  • Represent the brand positively both in-house and externally
  • Collaborate with the franchise office on growth and brand initiatives

Administrative & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reports
  • Review and approve all clocked hours for payroll processed by head office
  • Enforce company policies and procedures consistently

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience managing or supervising in a full-service restaurant or bar
  • Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and bar-focused operations
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting, labor control, and cost management
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Passion for hospitality and guest experience is essential
  • Maintain up-to-date Food Handler’s certificate
