Do you want to make a difference while gaining valuable hands-on experience in community support and personal care? We are seeking compassionate and dependable Support Workers to join our team for a temporary assignment supporting individuals in the community across Thunder Bay and area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals in residential or community-based settings
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (personal care, hygiene, meals, housekeeping)
  • Implement individualized care plans and support clients in achieving their goals
  • Promote independence, dignity, and community inclusion
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times
  • Follow established health and safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate, enrollment in a PSW, DSW, or nursing program, diploma in social services or related field, or equivalent. Relevant life experience relating to this work is also considered valuable.
  • Experience supporting seniors, or individuals with disabilities, mental health diagnoses, is an asset
  • Training in personal care and activities of daily living is an asset
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset
  • Ability to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check(issued within the past 6 months)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within the past 2 years)
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills along with basic computer literacy
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the role (lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs occasionally)

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
