Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive EHS Representative to support utility-scale wind energy projects. In this role, you will serve as the safety representative, providing oversight of contractor activities and monitoring compliance with project safety requirements, industry standards, and established work practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for observing work activities both inside and outside wind turbines, documenting field observations, identifying potential risks, and providing detailed reporting to project leadership.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced renewable energy professionals seeking project-based work with the potential for future assignments based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Must speak French and English
  • Conduct field observations of work activities inside and outside wind turbines to verify compliance with site safety requirements and industry best practices.
  • Monitor contractor performance and adherence to company policies, procedures, permits, and site-specific safety expectations.
  • Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and potential risks, and communicate findings to project management.
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily reports documenting workforce activities, observations, safety concerns, project progress, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in site orientations, safety meetings, toolbox talks, and project coordination meetings.
  • Support incident reporting and investigations by gathering facts, documenting observations, and assisting project leadership as required.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through visible field presence, professional engagement, and proactive communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of wind energy industry experience.
  • Previous experience supporting wind turbine maintenance, construction, blade repair, commissioning, major component exchanges, or related field operations.
  • Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices within the renewable energy industry.
  • Strong observation, documentation, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related business software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technicians, contractors, site leadership, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience serving in an HSE, safety coordinator, safety specialist, field oversight, or owner representative capacity is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of hazard recognition, risk assessment, and contractor safety management principles.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in dynamic field environments.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE wind turbine experience, non-negotiable.
  • Candidates with the ability to obtain GWO certification may be considered.
  • Must be physically capable of climbing wind turbines and working at heights.
  • Must meet all site-specific fit-for-duty and medical requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work 50–70 hours per week, including overtime when necessary.
  • Fluent in French is a plus
