Location

This is a contract / full-time (Project-Based up to 2 years) on-site in person remote mine site construction project in Lynn Lake.
(Shuttle provided) Camp bunkhouse accommodations.

Project Overview

We are seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to support a construction project in Winnipeg for up to 2 years contract. This is a field-based, client-facing role focused on ensuring site safety, compliance, and hazard mitigation.You will work closely with project teams, project owners and sub-contractors to maintain a safe and compliant work environment while promoting a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and provide actionable reports
  • Support implementation of health and safety programs on site
  • Lead worker safety orientations and verify training compliance
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and contractors to mitigate risks
  • Participate in project meetings and provide safety recommendations
  • Assist with incident investigations and reporting
  • Liaise with client and regulatory bodies when required

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
  • Strong knowledge of Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health Act and Regulations
  • Experience with inspections, hazard assessments, and reporting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience supporting Iron workers is considered an asset
    • Ability to provide safety support in field and on administrative tasks (program/plan development)
Licence/Certification:
  • GSC, NCSO, CRSP or other recognized Safety Designation (required or working towards)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED Certification - (required)
  • WAH Certificate (required)
  • Construction based background (required)

To meet the requirements of this position and our client/worksite standards, the successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Drug and Alcohol Test. SafetyCo will coordinate and provide access to the required screening as part of the pre-employment process.
