Full job description

Neuman Forest Products, a division of Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve, has an opportunity for a skilled and experienced Sawmill Operator to join our sawmill operations team. Enjoy an exceptional work-life balance with a four-day work week. Our sawmill operates Monday through Thursday, providing a full 40-hour work week while giving employees a three-day weekend, every week, to enjoy family time, outdoor recreation, farming, hobbies or simply relax and enjoy the pace of rural living.

Located on the shores of the Madawaska River in the southwestern edge of Renfrew County, the area offers a unique rural lifestyle surrounded by forests, farmland, and waterways. Home to the communities of Palmer Rapids, Brudenell, Quadeville, and Hardwood Lake, the area supports a strong forestry sector, outdoor adventure businesses, and a vibrant small-business community.

The Lower Madawaska River Provincial Park and the nearby Class II and III rapids make the region a destination for paddling, fishing, hiking, and year-round outdoor recreation. For those who enjoy nature, community, and rural living, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan is an exceptional place to live and work.

At its core, Haliburton Forest is a sustainable multi-use private land stewardship company with operations that include guided tours, forestry, sawmilling, recreational trails, value-added manufacturing, ecological research, and much more. Through our work, we try to minimize our environmental impact as we manage private lands and operating assets on our own terms. We try to generate meaningful profits, but we do so in a manner that earns our social license and fulfills our land ethic. We try to balance sustainable forest management, manufacturing, tourism, research, and conservation all at the same time. We try to continuously improve, take risks, and grow our business, while setting a positive example for all our stakeholders.
