About Concert Properties

Putting people first is at the heart of the Concert Properties story. We are deeply invested in improving the lives of the people who live and work in our communities, acknowledging that communities are more than just buildings. We focus on quality, consistency and sustainability, and our business is driven by warm, passionate people who embody a desire to help each of us feel more connected to one another. We develop, own and manage rental apartments; develop condominium homes; and develop, acquire and manage industrial and office properties. Since 1989, we’ve grown to over $6.6 billion in assets under control.

Position Summary

We’re hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician for our new purpose-built rental building within the North Harbour community. This role is resident-facing and building-focused, with added technical complexity because the building is supplied by Lonsdale Energy Corporation (district energy) and includes mechanically demanding plant equipment (energy transfer / main plant and reheat plant).

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day maintenance, suite service requests, turnovers, preventative maintenance, and contractor coordination. You’ll also provide occasional relief coverage at our nearby commercial building (889 Harbourside), which includes heat pumps, a cooling tower, and boilers.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Service and Suites

  • Complete service requests efficiently, professionally, and with clear communication to residents.
  • Support suite turnovers, including inspections, repairs, and coordination of trades.
  • Coordinate access and maintenance needs for retail tenants within the mixed‑use building.

Building Operations and Inspections

  • Perform regular inspections of common areas, parkade, exterior, retail areas, and service spaces.
  • Identify and escalate building issues early, including leaks, alarms, and life-safety concerns.
  • Respond to urgent issues affecting residential or retail areas (e.g., leaks, access, lighting).

Mechanical / Technical Scope (North Harbour – District Energy + Reheat Plant)

  • Assist with operating and troubleshooting building systems such as pumps, valves, hydronic distribution, and energy transfer equipment.
  • Support contractors and Lonsdale Energy during outages or equipment issues and ensure proper documentation.

889 Harbourside Relief Coverage (as needed)

  • Provide basic building operations support for heat pumps, cooling tower, and boilers.
  • Coordinate contractors and respond to site issues within competency.

Preventative Maintenance and Vendor Coordination

  • Execute and document preventative maintenance and maintain organized records and workspace.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors to ensure safety, quality, and proper completion of work.
  • Manage inventory and supplies for maintenance operations.

Safety and Emergency Response

  • Participate in emergency responses for leaks, alarms, equipment failures, and security incidents.
  • Support fire/life safety compliance and checks.
  • Participate in the after‑hours on‑call rotation.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in residential building maintenance (rental / multi-family / similar).
  • Strong practical skills across general maintenance: plumbing repairs and leak response, Minor electrical (within scope), Drywall patch/paint, door hardware, locks/closers, basic carpentry/repairs
  • Experience working with building mechanical systems (hydronic heating, pumps, valves, HVAC components) and coordinating service contractors.
  • Basic knowledge of BAS/DDC systems (alarms, schedules, setpoints, knowing what to check and when to escalate).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills; able to handle resident concerns professionally.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to work independently with good follow-through.
  • Valid BC driver’s license (occasional travel between sites).
  • Knowledge of governing legislation such as the Residential Tenancy Act of BC, Human Rights Code, Personal Information Protection Act Fire Code and Occupational Health and Safety (Worksafe BC)
  • 5th Class Power Engineering Ticket an Asset

Please note this is a general description of the tasks and skills required. Additional responsibilities and duties may be required to successfully perform this role.
